Date Night and Channeling our Inner Picaso!

Tom and I had an awesome date night on Thursday! We got so many fun things packed into one night. We started out in the Westside district of Kansas City, and made it into the Fervere to get some yummy bread. This place is only open 3 days a week, and only stay open until they sell out. Then we walked around the corner to an Italian soda/snow cone shop called Little Freshie. We had a traditional root beer Italian soda, and a banana cardamom. DELICIOUS! This shop is so cute, and they sell a ton of cute local products from candles to coffee. This is such a neat neighborhood in Kansas City with so much character.

Then we enjoyed some dinner at one of our favorite restaurants - Westside Local.  Tom ordered their new Local Pig hamburger topped with prosciutto, and I got the apple chicken salad sandwich. Ahhhhmmmaaazing!!!

I found a Groupon a few months ago for a BYOB art class. It was located in West Plaza at an old art gallery. The decor on the walls were enough entertainment for me. We each got our own paint, paint brushes, apron, and blank canvas to work on. The picture for the night was Starry Night, and the teacher walked us through 4-5 steps to paint the photo. We both really enjoyed it! The highlight of the night by of been the girls next to us that had a little too much "B" in the byob... she spilled her water cup that she rinsed the paint brushes out in ALL over a 5,000+ Persian rug. Oops! haha

In other news: Tom and I also went to a boxing class this week. We are still both having trouble walking. haha! (It was a little intense) We signed up for a month so there will be many more.

Before heading out on our date night! Love this guy. :)

We were lucky to get two loaves of bread because they sell out so fast!
Tom's delicious hamburger and fries.
My sweet husband.
The cutest little soda shop in the Westside.
Our yummy drinks and our macaroon.
My finished project! Maybe we can find a nice place for it in the... closet? haha!
Getting started
Getting in the zone!
All done!
Voila!
Us looking exceptionally dorky in our smocks.
Some of the art work on the walls at the gallery.
Tom ventured away from the "original" Starry Night and made his own with the Kauffman Preforming Arts Center.

The wine helps you paint better! ;)

On our way home from boxing. Wow - we were beat!
